One of the main themes of Venice Design Week 2015 is the silk screen printing, a journey from the traditional technique to the more innovative one, based on thermochromic pigments. But what is the silk screen printing? It’s a permeographic printing technique, that uses a particular fabric, called serigraphic fabric, stretched on a piece of wood or metal.

Annalisa Simonella and  Lysney Calder in collaboration with Giampaolo Fallani, thanks to their experience, present to the public the silk screen printing techniques and propose a lab on Saturday 3 October at 10 A.M., at the Fallani laboratory in Venice. VDW will introduce you to this fantastic world and gives you the opportunity to discover this workmanship; you can also experience smart and e-textiles: fabrics able to feel the external stimuli and react to the external world, improving comfort and performances. The presentations explores the principal typologies of these fabrics in the field of art, fashion, health, wellness.

From 11 A.M. Annalisa Simonella and Lysney Calder will hold a workshop about silk screen printing, taking photochromic and thermochromic pigments. Annalisa is part of the Allenomis circuit, that has the aim to create innovative and futurist clothes, responding to a wide range of exigencies of the modern generations, and that must be responsible, timeless, sustainable and high-quality products. Lysney Calder had researched a lot about these materials abroad and she will propose the workshop in english language too if required.

To attend is not necessary any previous experience, but we suggest to be part of the presentation of Saturday 3 October2015, to obtain a basic knowledge.
