Wood-Skin S.r.l. was established in 2013 in Milan by a talented team of individuals working together to use traditional techniques in innovative ways, incorporating technology to achieve new possibilities in building and design. Wood-Skin® is a process and a product, thought to challenge the conventional approach to wood and other flat materials, to transform defined structure to new, creative possibilities. Wood-Skin® is stronger and more versatile than independent materials. The innovative digital fabrication process takes life thanks to the interaction between a textile core, wood and a special company software.
In order to investigate new materials, interaction technology, digital fabrication, and software design, Wood-Skin srl has developed partnerships with leading experts across a wide range of industries. This multi-disciplinary approach allows the team to create custom solutions for unique design challenges.
Their works have been published by worldwide outlets such as Domus, Wired, The Superslice, The Archdaily, Architects Corner, Behance book and have been showcased at prestigious exhibitions such as FuoriSalone Ventura Lambrate, Fabbrica del Vapore and Milan Forniture Fair as technical partner of Material Connexion.
The programmable table was selected for the Berlin 2015 exhibit.
