ALESSANDRO CIFFO

Known as the master of silicone, Alessandro Ciffo lays out his inner world through the use of this material which acquires a special mastery of his hands. Ciffo manufacturers silicone creations with a very personal approach: every new piece arises as if it was the solution of a problem which doesn’t exist. Ciffo gives voice to silicone; the shape of his works develops according to the message conveyed. Since silicone has a natural longterm life, Ciffo’s creations can be considered environmentally sustainable as an added value of his extraordinary designing.

Alessandro Ciffo (Biella, 1968) has been working as an artist and a designer since 1997. He is autodidact and independent manufacturer which are key concepts of hiscareer. His work is based on the ongoing research of the extreme potential of the silicone. According to him, this is the only medium which is able to fully express his inner vision. The result is the creation of artefacts which cannot be easily classified; they reflect a melange of art and design. He produces designing objects and art installations inspired by his need of expressing himself and experimenting new techniques and materials.
