Venice Design Week is partner of Arte Laguna Prize.
We report with pleasure the new opening of design section completely dedicated.
In the Arte Laguna Prize’s thirteenth edition, the new design section is oriented beyond the contemporary art’s borders with the purpose to promote and enhance the creativity in the furniture industry. it is supported by Ministry of foreign trade, Ministry of cultural assets, Venetian Region, Venice district, Ca’Foscari University, European Institute of Design (IED).
There are ten categories when artists and designers may apply until November 27th: design, painting, sculpture and installation, virtual art, photography art, graphic design, video art and short film, performance, urban art and land art. All works will be judge by a committee of international art experts preside over Igor Zanti, prize general curator and director of IED Venice, the best 120 will be exhibit at the Arsenale in Venice, from March 16thto April 7th2019.
The contest aims to deliver 6 prizes and exhibitions in international art galleries, partnership with companies, inserting in the artelagunaworld portal and catalogue publication.
Especially, in the Design section will be home furnishing that add value to the housing experience when the visual part dominated. Finishing and outdoor are accept, instead appliance and electronic elements aren’t approved. The finalist Designers mast introduce a real size prototype or a scale reduction because the maximum size of the prototype can’t pass 100 cm per side.
