Belles De Nuit, Nadja Galli Zugaro

BellesDeNuit

”…nothing remains, nothing is finished and nothing is perfect.”  (Richard R. Powell concerning Wabi-Sabi)

Nadja Galli Zugaro ‘designs the material’ using her tools as if they were pencils. She reconciles the repetitive regularity of the original industrial product with the imperfect uniqueness of the manual work. Her research started during her architecture, art and design studies in Halle and Leipzig in the ex-DDR, right before the fall of the Berlin Wall, 40 years after the Bauhaus debate on formalism. Her working career as an architect and designer, which started in the new Germany, has continued since 1998 in Italy where she created the first self-produced objects.

BellesDeNuit originates in 2012. It is the natural evolution of the initial creative and troubled thought that becomes action, transformation, construction. Unused metal containers undergo a metamorphosis and  become artdesign objects (not necessarily luminous). The precise design idea, ruled by geometry, shape and function, is expressed in ‘Geometrie di Luce’ : a new code to interpret geometries, symmetries and light through a unique and personal language, capable of telling new stories, evoking emotions and wonder, restoring the objects of that beauty that often hides in their preordained existence.ritratto Nadja Galli Zugaro
