Venice Design Week Jewelry Selection 2019

jewel by Corrado De MeoREBIRTH 2019 brooch
Materials: silver, oxides, acrylics, fabric, wood. Dimension: 9×7 cm.

He has always been fascinated by how the things that surround us, and the matter of which they are composed, attacked by the passage of time, is transformed. Above it, time affects its signs in a constant succession of events and modifications, creating new aesthetic keys of interpretation for those who know how to decipher them. The transformation of matter – its “rebirth” – and its recycling, are focal points of his work; the research he does on it and the signs of the times, makes he collects and interprets those waste materials that, taken out of context, seem significant, and that lead him to continue, albeit in another form and symbolically, to tell their long journey.
