Costanza D’Alpaos

Costanza D’Alpaos is the designer behind the brand “Costanza Jewelley”. She graduated in 2015 in Product Design at IUAV in Treviso-IT and a few years after moving to the UK she combined her love for jewelry with the passion of being creative.
Costanza Jewellery is a small independent brand founded in 2018 with the aim to bring to life bold and unique jewellery. With the use of many meters of satin ribbon each piece is painstakingly hand woven together using different techniques to give the striking 3D element.
The design focus for each unique piece is to create an eye-catching bold piece of statement jewellery. With the use of colour clashes throughout, these designs show a freshness and perculiarness which in turn keeps them wearable in all types of situations while also being fun. The different type of ribbon size and finishing materials helps bring texture to the design process. With the use of texture, the mind plays games with its wearer, as each piece is considerably lighter than one would first perceive.

All over the place
Necklace
Materials: satin ribbons, steel cord and glass beads
Size: 150 cm (length)

This piece is meant to be a faithful representation of Costanza’s journey since becoming a mother, acting as the colourful and chaotic portrayal of her mind, completely changed by the arrival of her daughter. This new chapter has brought with it a mixture of emotions, stimuli and thoughts constantly evolving and depicted by the weaving of ribbons with different techniques. The weave of the necklace, wrapped around a metal rod for support, flows with no clear beginning or ending alternating itself with four glass pearls that accentuate the lines’ transitions.

Reverse, gioiello di Costanza D'Alpaos

Reverse
Materials: satin ribbons and  sterling silver

The necklace is composed of the main black and white linear element from which the orange section detaches and slowly finds its way in the opposite direction. Hence the name of the jewel Reverse. Black and white represent contrasting meanings and emotions: on the one hand purity, admiration and power, on the other fertility, mourning and spirituality. Orange is used to draw attention to a potential danger, in this case the change of direction. The necklace is handmade by weaving satin ribbons in such a way that they become a solid structure that can be transformed into a wearable piece.
