Every year Venice Design Week promotes projects about light. In 2018 we have selected projects for the Oratorio dei Crociferi thanks to the partnership of “Gioielli Nascosti di Venezia – Fondazione Venezia Servizi”.
The public will visit the exhibition and can discover how the painter Palma il Giovane use the light in his paintings and how the contemporary designers interpret light.

This year the competition dedicated to light sees as a theme the combination of art, color and light in the form of lighting systems, floor lamps and interiors projects. An encounter not as unexpected as it may seem. The light, in fact, has always interacted with art and its colors, giving strong emotions to those who live this meeting. In the beautiful location of the Oratory of the Crociferi of the Campo dei Gesuiti, in Venice, will be exhibited luminous bodies that express emotions through the colors and that, in this place, relate in the best way possible with art. Located in the Campo dei Gesuiti, the Oratory has within it beautiful works such as the pictorial cycle of Jacopo Palma il Giovane. It was built between 1583 and 1592 by the will of the Doge Pasquale Cicogna.

The selected projects (lighting bodies and lighting systems, and interios) have been exhibited and promoted during the 2018 edition of the Venice Design Week. We imagine that the designers are inspired by the value of light, which is particular in Venice.
