The project: an extraordinary melting pot of art and design
HI-MACS® CORIAN® and KRION® are among the materials most widely used in modern architecture, for example in kitchen countertops, but Franco Eccel, the reinvents processing them in an unusual way. Fragments of colored material are used to create tables, tops and furnishing elements that look like real artworks, while smaller pieces become jewels and home design objects. It is a project of design and material recovery that bears the same name, “ECCEL”, born to revolutionize the use of solid surface.

THE JEWELS
His unique pieces, handcrafted, numbered, resistant, light and imaginative color combinations are made with an exclusive technique never used until now. An interesting detail in his creations is the sign of junction between the individual elements that, in the wake of the Japanese practice of Kintsugi, Franco Eccel deliberately highlights its presence with contrasting glues giving greater strength to the design.
