During Venice Design Week (3rd – 11th October 2020), Edmond à Venise hosts two jewelry makers: Martina
Angius, presented by Valeria Accornero, and Zabou.

Martina Angius’ jewels are stories of meadows and flowers, of nature that preserves over time its colors and its charm. The procedure starts with a selection of petals and leaves that are dried with a procedure that fixes the original color. Vegetable elements then become kind of brushstrokes, that Martina uses to compose micro collage on a black glass background. The small paintings are well protected by a frame, made according to the Tiffany stained glass technique, are ready to become pendants, earrings, or necklaces.
Remaining in her characteristic style Martina has created for Edmond two collections that talk about gardens: from the intimate and secret one to the Giardino Reale. In “Les jardins du nord” the petals are used as broad brush strokes and the color fades almost as if it were filtered by a slight haze of time. In “Jardin contemporain” small fragments of nature create geometries of abstract landscapes with even more vivid color strokes.

Zabou collaborates with museums and art galleries to create thematic collections of unique pieces. She has been collecting beads for over 20 years, to remember places and people, and discover different craft techniques. Since the end of the 3rd Millennium BCE in Mesopotamia, glass beads have been made in numerous parts of the world. Prized as ornaments, jewellery or a show of wealth, they formed an integral part of all major trading networks so that glass beads can now be sourced far away from their place of origin. Whether for the local market or for export, manufactured or handmade, the creation of glass beads led to the development of many techniques, from the most basic to the most sophisticated. Hence, glass beads bear witness to history, geography, technology and global trade.
The “Witness” collection comprises antique, vintage and modern beads across time and geography, reflecting Trade Roads and a variety of bead making techniques.

The opening day will be held on 4th of October. Store will be open everyday from 10am to 6pm
