Interaction Design

VDW2021

In October 2021 Venice Design Week in collaboration with Michela Codutti of euroinnovators and Rama Gheerawo, director of The Helen Hamlyn Centre for Design, Royal College of Art London UK make some reflections on social and technological interaction in our lives and the environment.
Experts are invited to develop themes in online talks in order to involve and widen the audience of those people who are not in Venice at that time.
The talks are held by trend experts, industry technicians, designers, researchers and academics.
The meetings inspire the Competition “Design for a better living” that will take place between 2021 and 2022.

The themes are following:

Interaction in Social Life

A social interaction is a building block of society and can be studied between groups of two (dyads), three (triads) or larger social groups. By interacting with one another, people design rules, institutions and systems within which they seek to live.
How does social interaction affect our lives?
Why is social interaction important in daily life?
What happens without interaction?
What are the characteristics of social interaction?
Starting from the above questions we will speak about smart technology and systems able to improve social interaction among people of different age, nationality, culture.

Wearable Technology

In 2016 and 2017 we developed the Wearable Tech competition. The selected works were exhibited in the Fabric Research Center at the Museum of Palazzo Mocenigo. The talks will analyse the evolution of the wearable technologies. Rama Gheerawo, director of The Helen Hamlyn Centre for Design, Royal College of Art London UK will curate these meetings.

Technology for environment

We will meet researchers and companies trying to improve our lives starting from applications and ideas that use technology as a means of development and continuous improvement. Technologies support us every day developing applications and systems to improve the environment.
