KANZ Architects

Kanz is a multidisciplinary design studio founded in Venice in 2014 by the architects Mauro Cazzaro and Antonella Maione. The studio deals with the design and restoration of residential architecture, product design, commercial interiors, design and realization of exhibition events and temporary installations.

With the belief that the activity of the designer is at the basis of the construction of any complex object, whether it is a product or a building, material or conceptual, the two architects address issues on very different scales while maintaining the same experimental approach and the same attention to detail and the potential of processing techniques and materials.

In the field of product design, in parallel with collaborations with complements and lighting companies, the two architects carry out their own independent production under the brand KANZ, born in 2016 with the idea of combining the design activity with a close collaboration with local artisan companies. With this, they aim at communicating that the value of an object is real if it is able to add something to the experience of what is already known.

Kanz Architetti works closely with artisans to learn the history, the working method, the techniques, enriching each project with a narrative. The objects that arise from this journey in the creative process are linked to reality and combine the potential of technology and material with the idea of beauty and functionality. Cazzaro and Maione explore traditional techniques to create suitable forms for contemporary living, while paying particular attention to the relationship between technical possibilities and innovation.
