Marta Pokojowczyk

Wroclaw, Poland

Graduated in Art History at the University of Wroclaw (2011) and Painting at the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Fine Art and Design in Wroclaw (2013). In 2014/2015 attended a transboundary program Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs in ‘Helena Loermans Handwoven Textiles’ Atelier in Odemira, Portugal. Entering the discipline of weaving is the crucial point in the artist’s practice which let the author deepen the issue of the canvas as a groundwork (the basis for painting). Designing 3 – dimensional textile objects which interweave fine and applied arts is a transposition of the work of art from a sphere of a pure view directly into the human environment. In 2017 set up Interweave Studio – Atelier which interlaces art, craft and humanities.

Handwoven Canvas

Interweave Studio is a manufactory which offers unique handwoven textiles designed by Marta Pokojowczyk. Linen textiles for interiors, canvases, as well as fashion accessories are dedicated to everyone who looks for one-of-a-kind and comfortable products. The originality of these materials is that they are entirely created on the loom, in both their color and structure, always in single units. The textiles are produced from certified European linen and woolen yarn. Handwoven treasures in the urban environment significantly enrich human life. Products are available in the internet shop. In our portfolio, you may also find a wide range of distinctive textiles woven by special request. We ship worldwide.

Handwoven linen curtains in aluminium constructionCanvases 3D are a wall decorative fabrics entirely constructed on a weaving loom. They appear as single decorative forms, as well as, they can create larger compositions. Thanks to spatial constructions, fabrics fully enhance their structure, becoming objects from the sphere of kinetic art.
Fabrics function in the space in which the viewer moves, having a direct impact on the quality and culture of his life. Hand-woven canvases are constructed on a loom by using a painting technique of glazing – an application of transparent or semi-transparent layers on each other. A study on the theory of color is one of the most important stages in the design of these fabrics.
Woven textiles in architectural space are a part of a concept “Humanism of fabrics” began in 2018. It is an artistic research on the influence of woven textiles on a human being, in an urban environment.
