Susanne Elstner, born in 1962 in Munich. Her education’s path started in 1981 as goldsmith apprentice at Kaufbeuren’s professional school, Germany. Between 1984 – 1994 were employed as goldsmith at company th.heiden in Munich, meanwhile was getting her goldsmith master craftman´s diploma throughout 1989 – 1991. In 1995 she achieved her artist diploma.
Charcoal “larch wood”, amber and silver oxidiced. By a special procedure, it is possible to control the carbonizing process, larch wood in combination with amber.
The piece fits so well on the subject, because water brings life to the trees and lets their resin flow. With the absence of water, however, new forms and structures, such as charcoal and amber, can be created. Combined in a piece of jewellery, the observer can still feel the fluidity and the movement of the water.
