The exhibition “Venice and the American Glass Studio”, created and shown by Tina Oldknow and William Warmus, the former curators of modern and contemporary glass at The Corning Museum of Glass in New York, for LE STANZE DEL VETRO will be at Island of San Giorgio Maggiore, Venice.

This exhibition will have pieces of glass vessels, sculptures and installations made by 60 artists and it will analyze the evolution and emergence of contemporary glass processing since the 1960s by the American Glass Studio. This movement in past decades, tried to look and carefully examine the aesthetics of Venice and especially the Island Murano, to refine the techniques of manual processing, since at the time in the United States, this technique was becoming more and more industrial.

The exhibition will give the artistic impact that Venice had on America from the Sixties to today with regard to this type of art and the historical craft language that is behind the creation of these works of art that has carried in the tradition of this exhibition that takes part in the center of the idea.
