Visit to the location for The Elegance of the Black Swan

On Friday 15 July, the VDW Team had the pleasure of visiting the location that will host the competition “The Elegance of the Black Swan”, located in the beautiful Palazzo Grimani, in the Castello district.
Linked to the events of the Grimani family, the palace expresses the venetian beauty; The rooms, once disposed to exhibit ancient works owned by Giovanni Grimani, Patriarch of Aquileia, still possess the splendor and the uniqueness that unite the whole building.
The highest point can be seen in the Tribune room, which was to be used as a museum space, where is exposed a sculpture representing an eagle (the God Zeus) which raises Ganymede, individual symbol that is brought to spiritual wealth.
The recurring theme in the painted ceiling is justice, to recall the trial suffered from Giovanni Grimani to charges of heresy, which stopped his ecclesiastical career.
All this peculiarity is found in our contest “The Elegance of the Black Swan” which sees the exhibition of works that express the concept of diversity.
A black swan in a lake of white swans, just as Palazzo Grimani, unique in its particularity in a majestic and shining Venice.
Our team was able to breathe the beauty of the building and imagine how to draw the exhibition of the selected works. Through the story of our guide, we were able to identify valuable and useful spots that will help us in giving more attention to the works during the competition.
Ready for this adventure, together with the artists and their works, we expect you for the Venice Design Week, at the exhibit “The Elegance of the Black Swan”.
