Visit to the Magazzino del Caffé – ICIVenice

On Thursday 14 July, the VDW team was hosted by ICIVenice – Magazzino del caffè, together with Prof. Eugenio Farina and some of his students from the Italian Design School in Padua and Aphrodite Cultural Association of Venice, to speak the “Philosophical Research Laboratory / Anthropological on Design” project.
The Laboratory directed by Professor Farina, sees students working for six weeks on 4 specific themes:

– Trasfunctionality,
– Weak Homes,
– Industrial Sculpturing,
– Metamarkets.

In particular, the latter subject is followed closely by the Cultural Assosciation Aphrodite of Venice, which is promoting projects that make the city of Venice more accessible for people with disabilities.
The Laboratory conceived and directed by Professor Farina will allow students to work on these issues and so develop the works that have as their focus the radical rethinking of the design of objects. The ICIVenice greeted with much enthusiasm this project and will host, during the Venice Design Week, the exhibition of works created by the students. The ICIVenice, a non-profit organization, situated in Campo San Simon Grando, in the district of Santa Croce, has always been a meeting place between different cultures and arts, particularly ethnographic arts world. The place, young but linked to the history of Venice, is located in a former warehouse of coffee and provides a great connection between the design projects and cultural projects. It is therefore ideal for the exhibition of these works to be displayed during the Venice Design Week.
The VDW Team will be proud to participate in the realization of this project, which is very interesting and creative in the Venice Design Week style.
